It’s time for us to lift the curtain on some major changes here at Pressbooks! We’ve spent a lot of time over the last month doing some much-needed maintenance across the platform, including theme improvements and changes to the user experience for institutions using single-sign on technology. We have a host of new themes.
To test them out, log into PressBooks, select Appearance –> Themes and select the look you like. Reexport your book — if you don’t like it, you can switch to a different theme and export again.
The new themes are:
Named after Nicholson Baker, a clean modern theme ideal for novels.
Named after Agatha Christie, this one is made for cozies, mysteries, and other novels.
Named for Nora Ephron, this is an elegant theme for memoirs and fiction. There is a color version and a Black and White version.
Named after a founder of the University of Washington Information School, this theme is built for research reports, white papers and other non-fiction.
Named after Canadian novelist Margaret Laurence, this theme is suitable for academic presses and non-fiction.
Named after Neal Stephenson, this theme is designed with scifi in mind, but can work with a range of fiction and non-fiction alike.
