Accessibility

Pressbooks believes that education should be available to all people regardless of abilities, and that everyone should have equal access to publishing tools that allow them to share their ideas with others. That is why accessibility is at the forefront of our minds when we build tools, create resources, and offer solutions to some of today’s most urgent educational challenges.

Here are some documents that further explain our accessibility standards and commitments.

The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template [VPAT®]

The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template [VPAT®] is a document template maintained by the Information Technology Industry Council which vendors frequently use to explain how their software conforms to leading web accessibility standards. In May 2019, Pressbooks published our first VPAT using the VPAT®2.3 WCAG edition and documenting Pressbooks’ compliance with the WCAG 2.0 A and AA guidelines.
