Webinar: Exploring the Power of Adaptation in Open Education

April 7 @ 2:00 pm 3:00 pm EDT

A major benefit of open educational resources is the ability to adapt and remix learning materials to make them more relevant to specific classroom contexts and more responsive to diverse learners’ needs. By adapting OER, educators can customize and localize learning materials to reflect the communities they serve and better position their students for success.

Adaptation often includes representing the perspectives, cultures, and lived experiences of marginalized students to help validate their educational aspirations and enhance their learning and engagement. While this sounds great in theory, how do you actually go about remixing a textbook? And how do you do this at scale for all courses offered at your college or institution?

Join us on Monday, April 7 at 2pm eastern for our next webinar, in partnership with The Rebus Foundation and members of the ROTEL (“Remixing Open Textbooks through an Equity Lens”) Project.

We’ll explore:

How to support the success of OER adaptation projects at your institution

Why adaptation is an OER superpower for making highly relevant, inclusive learning materials

How to approach OER remix/adaptation projects with a focus on enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes

Effective processes and helpful frameworks for creating quality remixed learning materials
