Introducing the Pressbooks Accessibility Authoring Tool: Creating Accessible Content in Pressbooks

Creating accessible content in Pressbooks just got easier with the launch of our new Accessibility Authoring Tool, powered by Editoria11y. Authors can now identify and address accessibility issues as they write, making it easier than ever to build inclusive, high-quality content from the start.

This webinar will introduce you to the Pressbooks Accessibility Authoring Tool, the first tool in Pressbooks’ new Content Readiness Toolkit, and show you how it helps content creators make accessible choices throughout the authoring process. You’ll see a demo of how this simple, in-context checker automatically flags common accessibility issues, provides actionable guidance, and helps authors improve their content without slowing down their workflow.

You’ll learn how this new feature works, including how to:  

  • Understand accessibility flags while authoring content (headings, alt text, and more)
  • Track improvements and download accessibility reports 
  • Activate the Accessibility Authoring Tool on your Pressbooks network (a free trial is available for enterprise networks until November 5)

This session is ideal for authors who want to learn how to use the new Accessibility Authoring Tool, and administrators who want to empower their authors to make accessibility a seamless part of their writing process.

Prerequisites: Participants will need to have access to a Pressbooks Enterprise Network to use the new Accessibility Authoring Tool.
