Our Favorite Pressbooks Books of 2022

As 2022 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back at a year gone by. One of our goals for the past year was to give publishers more tools to help showcase the variety of outstanding work they’ve published. Along with the release of our newly redesigned network catalog, we’ve also been busily adding books to Pressbooks Directory. At last count, Pressbooks Directory now features nearly 5,000 books from 140 networks. The richness and diversity of the publications included in the directory are all thanks to the many instructors, librarians, administrators, instructional designers, researchers, illustrators, and other talented folks who have created and cared for these educational resources.

In 2020, when things were looking bleak, we brought a little joy to each other at year’s end by sharing some of our favorite books published with Pressbooks that year. Since then, it has become an annual Pressbooks tradition to celebrate the incredible learning resources our community of users has created over the course of the year. This list only begins to scratch the surface (you’ll notice that we had a hard time limiting our enthusiasm to just one book each), but for anyone looking for some learning material to be inspired by, this list is a great place to start.

Stay tuned later in the month when we unveil the community’s favorites, chosen by you. We hope you’re as excited as we are.

A note about “2022”: Since OER are ever-evolving, we’re including books that were either published or updated since 2021.

And now, on with the books!
