For Book admins

Accessibility Assist

Pressbooks Accessibility Assist is a set of tools powered by Editoria11y that help authors identify, understand, and address accessibility issues in Pressbooks content. It also includes an optional scanner tool that updates the report for a whole book with one click.

With Accessibility Assist users can:

  • Review content for common accessibility issues (alt text, headings, etc) and make improvements directly in the Pressbooks editor
  • View an Accessibility Report that summarizes active issues by type and location and can be downloaded for deeper analysis
  • Scan book for accessibility issues with one click (if the Scanner Tool is enabled)

Link Checker

The Link Checker scans content for broken or unreachable links, making it easy for authors to identify and fix issues. The Link Checker helps authors keep learning materials reliable and provides visitors with a smooth, error-free reading experience.

Network Book Scanner

The Network Book Scanner allows network managers  to request bulk scans of multiple books and view the most recent results in one place. This tool makes it easy to identify issues, prioritize fixes, and ensure materials meet accessibility and quality standards.

With the Network Book Scanner users can:

  • Run automated batch accessibility and link scans on published books
  • View details of recent scans for all books on their network, including last scan date and number of issues found
  • Identify network-wide areas for improvement and remediation
