About the Role:

The Head of Marketing is responsible for developing and implementing demand generation marketing in a B2B SaaS ecosystem, with higher ed institutions, often academic libraries and centres for teaching and learning as the main buyers. This position is a management role and involves the oversight and management of a small marketing team. The goal of the Head of Marketing is to deliver on sales targets set in collaboration with the sales team, increasing the number of Marketing Qualified Leads and Sales Qualified Leads. Content marketing makes up the bulk of marketing activities, but you are also responsible for marketing operations, conference participation and other event marketing activities, social media, and SEO/SEM projects.

You are excited about helping to grow a mission-driven edtech company, working in the innovative space of open publishing, open education, and accessible education. You are independent and love challenges, and want to be part of a team reaching for the next level while contributing to a sea change in education. You have some experience leading others, and you operate well in a collaborative, agile company that prizes initiative. You are comfortable working with a small, remote team. You care about education, educators and students, and want to help change the way education is delivered.


  • Develop and implement a B2B lead-gen strategy
  • Measure and improve KPIs
  • Manage a small marketing team
  • Oversee content marketing
  • Oversee event marketing (mostly virtual, occasionally in person)
  • Oversee SEO and analytics activities

Candidate Requirements:

  • Demonstrated skills in lead generation
  • Experience B2B SaaS marketing
  • Excellent content creation and content management skills
  • Experience tracking and reporting on lead generation marketing activities, and the ability to demonstrate the impact of marketing activities on sales metrics
  • Good management skills and knowledge of Agile Management in a non-technical environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with SEO
  • Experience in Edtech or knowledge in targeting higher education is a plus

What to expect once you apply:

You will be invited to join a 30-minute intro call with our recruitment team, during which we will walk you through the team’s mission, the role, and the interview process.

Following the intro call, we will invite candidates to a one-hour interview.

The final interview is also an hour long and with other members of your future team.
