Most of our clients are universities and other educational institutions who use Pressbooks to power their publishing and open/free digital textbook creation programs. About the Role:
The Account Manager will work closely with two of our departments: Inbound Sales, and Customer Success.
As a part of the inbound sales team, you will be fielding emails, presenting demos to prospective clients as well as following up with a sales cycle through to finalizing contracts.
As a part of the customer success team, you will be reaching out to existing clients to present upsell and cross sell opportunities, as well as helping to renegotiate contract renewals.
You are driven and self motivated, eager to learn and develop your skill set. You like technology, and like figuring out new tools. You have an interest in publishing and equitable education, and you enjoy working on small collaborative teams. You have excellent interpersonal skills and strive to ensure prospects and customers enjoy an outstanding experience any time they engage with you and the product or service you are representing. You are research-oriented; you enjoy learning about prospects and customers and find innovative ways of engaging with them to drive sales. You are a personable communicator who can clearly and persuasively describe products and services to customers, and help them get to buying decisions.
- Respond to inbound sales inquiries.
- Develop and manage sales coordination processes, including: CRM record maintenance, scheduling, admin, process, contracts, paperwork, coordination of invoices, etc.
- Renegotiate contracts for existing clients
- Manage upsell to existing clients
- Host online demos for prospective clients
- You take initiative and are self-motivated
- You have at least 3 years sales experience
- You have experience selling a SaaS product
- You have a growth mindset
- You have knowledge of the higher education industry and/or publishing
- You are an excellent written and verbal communicator
- You have networking aptitude
