Years ago, I helped an author who wanted advice on self-publishing for a series of books he was writing. I’ll call him John. John told me that for one of his books, he had paid a company $10,000 to help him self-publish, and he ended up hating both the product and the process. But everything else can be done for very little with a professional result.
