If you’re a local author in the Phoenix area, you can connect with Pressbooks in person this weekend at a library event for local authors.
Marketing Manager Elizabeth Mays will be providing advice and resources for self-publishing at the Local Authors Book Sale at the Scottsdale Civic Center Public Library Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is an opportunity for indie authors from the library’s Local Authors collection to showcase their books, which include works for all genres and age groups, to local readers and to connect with publishing resources.
“I’m proud to be part of an event that’s all about recognizing the hard work and talents of independent, local authors,” said Mays, who is herself the author or editor of six self-published books and the marketing manager for the Pressbooks.com platform. “My goal is to let writers know how easy, fast and affordable self-publishing can be.”
Pressbooks is an online platform authors can use to easily and affordably format and print their books and book covers without the aid of a graphic designer or ebook developer.
Free copies and downloads of The Pressbooks Guide to Self-Publishing, which shows writers how to self-publish affordably, will be available to attendees.
