We’re delighted to introduce you to Leigh Kinch-Pedrosa, Pressbooks’ new head of marketing and communications!
Prior to joining Pressbooks earlier this month, Leigh worked for the past two years with our sister organization, the Rebus Foundation, most recently as their Communications and Partnerships Manager. She has extensive experience as a writer, copyeditor, and ethical marketer in support of open education and open pedagogy. Leigh is a graduate of Concordia University, where she earned a B.A. in English.
Outside of her marketing work, Leigh is dedicated to thinking about how personal storytelling can help people communicate better and has worked as a story producer for various projects organized by Confabulation, Phi Centre, Concordia University, and McGill University. Leigh has deep roots in the Montreal restaurant scene and is proud to hold outrageously strong opinions about food and wine.
“I had been watching Pressbooks for a long time and have always been so impressed with the way the product fills a real and tangible need in the education ecosystem,” says Leigh. “I’m excited to play my part in making education more equitable alongside an earnest, hardworking team that I am totally, one hundred percent confident in.”
